List of Affected Previous Degree Fields
Guidance for selected Master's applicants from India. This list indicates previous degree fields that may fall within the dMAT requirement. It is not exhaustive — APS India classifies related or mixed fields based on your official degree title, branch, major, honours subject, or specialisation.
View original PDF on aps-india.deThis list only determines whether the dMAT requirement may apply to your previous field of study. It does not confirm formal recognition of a degree, institution, or qualification for higher education access in Germany. APS India continues to assess each application separately — the official degree title, duration, and field must correspond to applicable Indian degree specifications and German recognition requirements. Taking the dMAT or receiving a certificate does not compensate for a degree that is not formally recognised.
Interdisciplinary and mixed fields
Guidance for common mixed or borderline fields. APS India may classify related cases based on the official degree title, branch, major, honours subject, specialisation, transcripts, and applicable recognition rules.

Fields requiring separate formal assessment
These fields are not classified by the field name alone. They may fall within the dMAT requirement if the official degree is Business, Management, Commerce, Finance, or Economics — but they may also raise separate questions of formal recognition. Inclusion here does not imply the underlying qualification is formally recognised for higher education access in Germany.

Fields not automatically included
Not automatically covered by the dMAT requirement unless the official degree title, branch, major, or specialisation is explicitly classified by APS India as Engineering, Commerce/Accounting/Finance/Economics, or Business/Management.
